As you may be aware, Nottinghamshire County Council have recently consulted on School Holiday and Term time dates for:
The consultation ran from 28 August 2017 and ended on 8 October 2017. The most popular option proposed a slightly shorter 5 week summer holiday and a 2 week October half term break, with a fixed spring break (generally the first two weeks in April with Easter at the beginning, middle or end of the two week block). Nottinghamshire County Council stated that when setting proposed dates for each model, they did, where possible, take into account, dates/patterns already set by their local authority neighbours. However, it should be noted that there is no formal mechanism for the regional setting of holiday dates.
As a Multi Academy Trust we are responsible for setting our own holiday dates. However, The Evolve Trust have opted to mirror the pattern now adopted by Nottinghamshire County Council. This is to limit disruption to sibling groups who are both in Trust and other local schools and for staff who have children in local schools.
