Teacher Training Opportunities

Exciting new opportunity to train to be a secondary maths teacher with SEND specialism

The Evolve Trust is now working in partnership with University of Derby to offer another route into teaching. This is a School Direct programme, successful completion of the course will lead to QTS status and a postgraduate qualification.

With intensive support in the classroom and the guidance of University experts, you will be fully prepared for the practical demands of secondary teaching. As part of the course, you will undertake three fully assessed teaching placements, supported throughout by trained school mentors and subject link tutors. You will also spend time at the University to help put your school experience in the context of educational policy, principles and evidence-based practice, as well as focussing on a diverse range of topics including SEND policy and legislation, effective inclusive practice, and meeting the challenges of teaching in the SEND sector.

During placement 1 and 3 you will;
- Study 1 day a week at University
- Train 3 days a week at Beech Academy
- Train 1 day a week at Brunts Academy

During placement 2 you will;
- Study 1 day a week at University
- Train 4 days a week at Brunts Academy
